The Bumppo is Missing!
Summer 2009 ended with the
counselors in possession of the Bumppo Stick and another year being
burned to their side of the stick. Summer 2010 began with the
presentation of the Bumppo from the campers to counselors in the normal
official manner only for the counselors to give it back in good spirit.
The campers, despite Rene's quick feet and John's endless energy, did
not keep it long and it was quickly returned to the counselors'
possession.
The first week would have ended in a similar fashion but the counselors forgot to show the stick. On Wednesday Teresa showed the Bumppo in the middle of the field to a group of campers in the Dining Hall during clean up and passed it off to Chefy Neil to hide. He did so but under duress as campers streamed out of Cabin 1 and the Dining Hall, and, from around the Barn in pursuit. They quickly made up ground and Chefy Neil was forced to hide the stick more quickly and with less care than in the past. He keep going to keep them off the scent but in the process he managed to lose its position.
After two days of searching the Bumppo was not recovered to be run again and possession officially lapsed to the campers. However, since the stick has not been found it is officially in limbo. Garrett is said to be considering breaking out the backup Bumppo but rumor is there will be another big push to find the original. As a response to losing the stick Chefy Da Da's have been hard to come by and Chefy is on the docket to cmoe before Kangaroo Kourt on Tuesday night.
