2010 Tribe Contest Begins with Sorting

The tribe contest has started.  Last Wednesday the Sorting Bucket brought twenty-six individuals to be sorted.  Twenty-Three of these were new and the lion's share...or should I say Phoenix's...went to Mohican.  A new Tribe Elder, Aisling, Medicine Man, Colum, and seven more campers joined the yellow and white.

Although the other tribes didn't have quite the catch that the Mohicans did they still added some important pieces.  Both Seneca and Iroquois now have new elders and new Medicine People were appointed for Huron and Seneca.

The Tribe Contest began in earnest on Thursday night with the first rounds of Capture the Flag.  Not quite the World Cup but still very lively and quick.  On Saturday the contest was thrown in to high gear with the first Creative Day of the summer.  Huron came out on top with Iroquois, Mohican and Seneca behind.  Tribes had a set of challenges including writing a poem, a new tribe chant, decorating their tribe egg, designing a new tribe t-shirt, creating a totem pole, putting three tribe members in costume, and writing and performing a new tribe chant.

All of the tribes came up with outstandingly intricate creations and one of the neatest ones, and able to be shared with others, is their new t-shirt designs.  Check them out here and let us know which one(s) you prefer...maybe you could even order them for yourself and a set for you entire family:
