2009: Year of the Boar!

After nearly eight full weeks of chasing the Seneca Tribe there was a shakeup in the Tribe Contest standings as Huron made a late play for the title.  Seneca fell off during the last ten days of the summer as Huron had a strong showing in both Capture the Flag and Treasure Hunt.  During the this time the Red and Black closed the gap and finally overtook the ever-strong Green and Brown.

Chefy and Sune motivated a truly amazing tribe group this summer as he led the Seneca early on forming an indelible bond for a small core of Sgeno that were together for the entire summer.  Rene, TTN, and Jared were the solid foundation upon which tribe elders made an unexpected run for victory.  With a set of first time campers, staff, and elders Seneca took everyone by surprise early on and consistently performed athletically, creatively, and theatrically over the eight weeks.

Nipping at those green heels all summer the Huron Tribe just hung around...consistently scoring near the top during Special Activity Days.  They stayed close by taking care of Skully (both "Senior" from last year & Junior) and repeatedly stealing other tribe's eggs.  At least three times the HUR-ONS earned eggy points that weren't theirs.  Their experience came in handy during the last days as they stayed consistent under pressure earning points in Robin's Arrow, Treasure Hunt, and each week in Capture the Flag.

The Hurons did experience some adversity this summer losing Wapper to a family vacation during Session III and nearly being disqualified for Neil's undiagnosed Scurvy (not really).  To tell you the truth the jury is still out on that little tinker...anybody seen his clothes?  Nora was an amazing first time contributor partnering with Sophie to achieve spectacular tribe energy.  Tae's passion charged the tribe's batteries and the artistic side of the Red Band returned.  When "dyed in the red" Hurons from day one were approached for comment neither Sean nor Nick could be reached...rumor is they are on a slow boat to Spain together enjoying the view.  Jess "Huron for Life" Solley did make herself available and is rumored to have said...

"I like all of the primary colors except Yellow...Blue...and Green."

     See you next year!
