Travel to Camp
There
are various ways that campers may arrive at camp; these include by
car, bus, train, plane, or camp transportation. Those campers
arriving by car come with a family member or family friend who
drives them and drops them off. Below are Driving Directions from a
few of the major cities of the Northeast. If families cannot drop
their child off at camp on the opening day of the session they may
take advantage of camp transportation. Camp Hawkeye
offers shuttle service, in the form of camp 12 person vans or
chartered buses, from Boston, New York, and any other city where
there is sufficient need. If there is not sufficient interest to
merit a bus or van other arrangements will be made. In addition,
Pathfinder offers pick ups from a pair of "nearby" airports, which
include Logan Airport in Boston, MA and Manchester Airport in
Manchester, NH. These airports are within two hours driving from
camp. International campers in particular are encouraged to utilize
these airports if possible. Private bus and train services are
available but are not as convenient or timely. Please call the
office at (617) 960-6740 for details or questions.

flights from Philadelphia, New York and Washington, DC as well and
are conveniently accessible from camp. The largest, but farthest, is
Logan International Airport (BOS) in Boston, MA, which is two hours
and 120 miles from camp. The closest is Manchester Airport (MHT) in
Manchester, NH, which is just over an hour and just sixty miles from
camp. |
