A NOTE FROM GARRETT
“There are a lot of new things to learn and adventures to be had!“
- Robert (he/him)
DEAR PROSPECTIVE STAFF MEMBER:
A very smart person once told me that people are paid for their work in inverse proportion to its importance to society. If that’s the case, then Camp Counselors are some of the most important people in the universe!
If you are looking for money to finance your next big adventure then coming to Hawkeye is probably not the fastest route to riches. If, on the other hand, Hawkeye IS your next big adventure, then you’ve got the perfect approach.
What working at Hawkeye lacks in the 401k department, it more than compensates for in fun, in experience, and in memories. Some of the best things about working at camp just don't fit in your wallet, like being part of a community that truly cares about you, meeting and working with people from around the world, and laughing every day while you work.
On that topic, check out this story of a staff member's impact on a child's life.
You do get paid in actual dollars, and there are other great, tangible benefits (check them out here). If you want to work outdoors in the sun, be in the woods away from the bustle of the rest of your life, and make a real difference for some awesome kids, join our staff team and start doing something that really matters.
See you soon.
